I do recall having a spirited debate right about then with a roommate who frequently justified his ideas by saying, "we should always err to the conservative." Part of those discussions were always about causing a weaker brother to stumble. I always countered that a brother who was so confident and certain in his conservative theology was hardly the "weaker" one.
