What they said holds true today but it is the radical left seeking to dress what the Bible unequivocally calls sin as righteous with the goal to silence, cancel and disenfranchise anyone who disagrees with DEI or the agenda of the 34 genders crowd, to assert control over all things sacred and profane. They believe they can create the kingdom of god(s) on earth and bring in every deviant, heretical, apostate movement.

In 1979 while living in Sacramento, I was invited to a "Bible Study" in the home of RJ Rushdoony, then living in Angels Camp, CA. Rushdoony, and his son-in-law Gary North were in discussions at the time with folks who were creating what would become the Moral Majority. For a semester I attended, and listened to his adamancy of overturning the current order of things in favor of domination. He was willing to partner with those he considered theologically inept - Charismatics in particular, Baptists in general, and Catholics pointedly - as they would be useful in demanding God's order of things. Mass killings of homosexuals, adulterers, rebellious children, and idolators would be necessary in the long run to bring about Christ's 2nd Coming. Interestingly, all this had as its theological underpinnings, a post-millennial eschatology at a time when the Dispensational, pre-millennial, rapture theology was at it's zenith. Watching it come to fruition in things like the Project 2025 and in the policies of this current administration, I look back on my response to Rushdoony's teaching - which was to decide "this guy's a nut job and nobody is going to buy any of this" - and wonder where were those who had the ability and platforms to quash all this in it's infancy.

Evil, ignorant or terrified? Or are they all three?

What a weird and poorly thought out critique of dominion theology.

Why? We are seeing it in action.
