Archbishop of Canterbury Revealed to Be Cat Stevens in Disguise

Yusuf Islam

London—The right-wing activist group Citizens Against Muslim Political Infiltration (CAMPI) stirred up shockwaves of controversy Tuesday by producing evidence that the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, is actually Yusuf Islam, the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens.

Commenting on Williams' recent statements endorsing the adoption of Sharia law to maintain "social cohesion" in Britain, CAMPI spokesman Martin Brentwhistle noted the archibishop's “scary, obviously false eyebrows,” then presented photographs of the famous singer that were at first mistaken for the Anglican leader. He also referenced a YouTube video of Archbishop Williams bursting into a rendition of "Morning Has Broken" while conducting a service at St Paul’s Cathedral.

“The substitution was incredibly easy to perpetrate,” said Brentwhistle. “All they had to do was die his hair gray and tack on the fake eyebrows. Cat Stevens is a Londoner, so he already had the accent. This is the latest in a long series of attempts by radical Muslims to infiltrate and control British society.”

Literature distributed by CAMPI also referenced the 1993 movie Dave, in which the American President suffers a fatal stroke and is replaced by a look-alike. The brochure encourages concerned citizens to approach the Archbishop and ask him to autograph Cat Stevens CDs as a means of “flushing out the imposter, and letting him know we’re onto his little charade.”

In a phone conversation with a London Times reporter, the Archbishop’s personal assistant Sarah Walker dismissed the charges as “silly rubbish” and claimed that Williams' eyebrows are “naturally bushy and one hundred percent real.”

We are living in a world of fools. Hearing that song as we write this. What the world needs instead of pseudo love is a cure!

Maybe, but back in Jan. ’07, Rowan Williams united with the Archbishop of York, John Sentamu, to back Cardinal Fang (sorry) Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor and the Catholics in their right to deny gay adoption and issued a letter to Tony the Tiger. In it he says,
“The rights of conscience cannot be made subject to legislation, however well meaning.”

Later last year Rowan made this statement:
“We have in practice taken for granted that the State is not the source of morality and legitimacy but a system that brokers, mediates and attempts to coordinate the moral resources of those specific communities, the merely local and the credal or issue-focused, which actually make up the national unit.

“This is a ‘secular’ system in the sense that it does not impose legal and civil disabilities on any one religious body; but it is not secular in the sense of giving some kind of privilege to a nonreligious or antireligious set of commitments or policies. Moving towards the latter would change our political culture more radically than we imagine.” (London Times, March 19, 2007 Ruth Gledhill, Religion Correspondent)

So, while it’s true that Yusuf Islam fell off his own peace train long ago, I think what we’re witnessing here by way of the current state of the Church of England is a more of a pathetic, spiritual Neville Chamberlain in charge with no Winston Churchill in sight, but a Hitler, definitely, on the rise.

On a lighter note, maybe Martin Marty could kinda come alongside Williams to provide some fellowship and counsel. What could we call their partnership?…Rowan and hmmmm?

The GOP has no ideas. Remember the twenties that led to the Great Depression? Poor Hoover took the fall and yet in the GOP's mind are building more Hoovervills; They "think" that's a stimulas package and this they think will cure our problems. Just because they graduated from elite schools - unlike the Dems - they are absent of thought! Jerry & Dotty Vilhotti living among the Litchfield Hills where no one can find us ....
