Naughty Boy in Tights

book

Swish: My Quest to Become the Gayest Person Ever is a book that Dr. Dobson will probably want to read when it comes out on May 13, because among the many adventures Joel Derfner describes—his determination to sign up for needlepoint and flower arranging classes while still a child at summer camp, his claim to be the fiercest step aerobics instructor in the universe, his career in musical theater, his flirtation with go-go dancing, his commitment to fad diets and Internet dating—he carries out a spy mission at one of those Focus on the Family programs where they try to “cure” people of homosexuality. Apparently things get gnarly and he has to fight his way out with a feather boa or something—Broadway Books is not telling exactly what happens—but this title is shaping up to sell way more copies than his first literary venture, Gay Haiku.

I have nothing to add here, just felt bad that this poor guy's book didn't warrant a single post...oops, that was an unfortunate turn of phrase.

If you ask me, I will not support gays, never ever in my life. Because I just feel it is kind of awkward. What are we? We are human beings and for that very reason, we should be civilized. It might be true that some develop sexual intimacies towards people of the same sex. So what? Everybody gets diseases. One should treat it with proper counseling. That is what they should do. Not the other way around. Besides, there has been lot of health related issues to this kind of people as well. So IMAO, I consider Dr Dobsons book is just a waste of time!

Very interesting discussion about gays. Personally it does not matter for me if a man is gay. I think that we live in a liberal world so I respect all persons. But I do not tolerate when gays or other kind groups want to show themselves and act improperly. Speaking about lesbians I think the same. For example if Bree Olson would be a lesbian, it wouldn't be something strange for me. The main thing I think that such people should live a normal life and do not organize various parades in order to show themselves. Thanks.

Well in today's world every man has his own rights even if it's about a gay, so this issue is not surprising but can be taken as a running process of everyday life.

I am not against the Gays but I just don't feel good enough to talk anything about them.

I definitely have a problem with people who look down upon people with other sensibilities than their own. Why is a Gay guy any different from someone who is straight? Even the term straight should be changed. What connotations does it bring in? That homosexuals are twisted, crooked? I really do not know when we as a community will change and be broad minded in our outlook towards others. I feel we are more forgiving to a pedophile or a rapist. Shame on us!
