Green Homosexuals, The Newest Threat to American Families

03/13/2008

Dobson Emergency Alert

By John Green

Dear faithful ministry partner,

Over the years, I have done my best to warn you of imminent dangers to the sacred institution of marriage and Christian families.

I have dared to speak up, even when it made me the target of ridicule of the godless media. I have faced threats of violence from extremist special-interest groups which seek to corrupt our Godly nation.

I took on the gay rights crowd. I battled Dr. Spock’s bad child-rearing advice. I did a lot of things which I don’t have time to talk about in this letter.

But now, I am facing the largest Goliath of my ministry.

In all my years of ministry, I have never seen a threat like the one facing us now!

You see, the forces of darkness which have been working separately to ruin our country, have united to form an even more powerful form of evil. An evil which could destroy civilization itself. Just as a virus can become stronger and more resistant to treatment, evil in America has mutated into a new virulent strain.

What is this new disease?

Well, I will tell you. But first, in all honesty, I want you to know that the “treatment” will not be without cost. We need funding for new approaches to battling evil. We must vaccinate the American people against this looming epidemic. We need to get our congressmen on board. We will need lobbyists to work on our behalf in Washington D.C. People must be mobilized at both a local and national level.

From the magazine

We will need money, and lots of it.

That’s where you come in.

We need you to give sacrificially. We need you to give like you’ve never given before.

For too long, the Church has been focused on evangelism and missionary work. Misguided Christians have wasted precious time and resources feeding the Third World, fighting global warming and battling AIDs in other countries. All the while, we have been losing the battle at home. It’s time to focus our energy and efforts here at home. We must defend our way of life. Many of you know my stand against homosexuality.

AND, more recently, you may have heard how I have criticized evangelical leaders who have formed unholy alliances with the environmental movement to “save” the planet at the expense of our God-ordained standard of living.

What you may not know is that these two radical movements have now joined forces.

My friends, we are now facing a Gay-Green threat: Homosexual activists who also seek to limit carbon emissions and promote recycling, as well as a sustainable lifestyle!

recycling

I know it sounds like “gangrene” and that is entirely appropriate, since this is a rottenness which will eat away at the integrity of our American way of life.

Even as I write this, publishing companies are printing propaganda which will be forced upon our elementary school children; books with titles like Heather’s Two Mommies Join the Sierra Club, Daddy’s Roommate Buys a Prius, and Help! Breeders are Killing My Planet.

Is this the kind of garbage you want your children brainwashed with?

I beg of you to take a stand. As a form of protest, I encourage Christians all across the United States to set fire to their green recycling trash bins on the first day of December. This will create a vivid demonstration of our unity, and will catch the attention of the national media.

Also, and more importantly, please call us today, to contribute to this vital fight for truth. Please be sure to have your credit card ready when you call.

As our special gift to you, when you donate today, I would like to send you a free book. This book is perfect for reading aloud to your elementary and preschool-age children. It will help to counteract the deceptive lies being disseminated in our culture. This charmingly illustrated book is called I Drive a Big Car Because I Serve a Big God. And rest assured, it is NOT printed on recycled paper!

Standing with you in the battle,

James Dobson

1. I wish it were true that the church has focused its spending on evangelism and missions, humanitarian aid and the like. Far too often, the focus is on entertaining/comforting ourselves.

2. An added benefit of burning our recycling bins will be the huge release of toxic gas!

3. My check is in the mail.

Leo Hammel, RN | 10:32 pm on 3/23/2008

I cannot believe the FOCUS OF HATRED I am hearing from this misled fool James Dobson. What is his fear of gay people? That they may move in next door and fix thier house up nicer making his look like the trash whom reside inside? True evangels will spread Jesus' message of love with ALL of his brothers and sisters, not to be so blasphemous as to elevate himself to the level of Christ the Lord and put himself in a self righteous position of judgement. He may not like someone and I know several people who do not like James Dobson, but judgement does not belong to him. I feel a far more great threat to the family are people who breed recklessly and irresponsibly as if it were only a form of entertainment, not the life changing responsibilty which it truly only should belong to the responsible married person. Perhaps THIS should be where more of his future focus is placed.

Tim | 06:56 pm on 3/29/2008

Leo-
Remember the article that made you have tachicardia is satirical.
Neither Dr Dobson nor Focus on the Family really wrote that piece even though both do assert that 1)homosexuality is outside God's will, 2)is a sin just as adultery, murder, oppression of the poor, or gossip, and 3) the gay rights agenda is the voice of a small minority.

In the old days, folk like John the Baptist said to give one to another, like your extra coat or food. He did NOT say give to religious whacko organizations. Giving one to another made you feel good. Frank Cappra even made a movie about such giving, It's a Wonderful Life. Watch the end of the movie in this clip, to see just how happy such giving -- one to another -- can be:

Can someone explain to me how we started with "Parenting Is Not For Cowards" to railing against Green Homosexuals and torching our recycleables for God? Do you think that move of FOF from the OC to Colorado Springs had something to do with it??? Closer to the sun - too many cosmic rays?

I admit I was one of Dr. D's glassy-eyed, republican sycophants and actually attended one of his two 1983 conferences (with my now ex-wife, guess we didn't focus well enough) - he didn't travel much then because of his kids. The conference was a huge ticket back then. He made a big deal out of the fact that he drew more people than Prince who had a concert in the venue the night before. Now that the scales have fallen from my previous homophobic eyes, I see that Green Homosexuals are just more people in need of God's love - kinda like all of us....

I'd like to see Dr. D get back to his first love - pediatric psychology. Times have changed, instead of dealing with backtalk because of a grounding, now, it's counseling sixth graders not to kill their one parent with a Taco Bell spork while smoking Crystal Meth. Can I get an amen we live in a really fallen world? Sadly, I think he could contribute, but I fear he's built such a perfect beast that he just can't get there from here.

Where's Gill Moegerle when you really need him?

Party316 | 02:55 pm on 3/15/2008

I'm all for satire and even sarcasm! But why was this written? Has Dobson made such a claim?
It would be good to have a link to an article (secular or to Dobsons own website) to clarify if he really does have an issue with 'green homosexuals'.
Otherwise, people falling upon this page may mistake satire for truth - just like when Benny Hinn makes a 'healing', there are those who take it as 'truth'! ha!

Tim-SavedbyGrace | 05:52 pm on 3/15/2008

Party316-
I agree with you. I doubt that Dr Dobson has put out such a mailing. For some, it would be easy to assume that this is fact rather that fantasy.

Cynth | 10:48 am on 4/02/2008

Uh, if you haven't quite noticed, this is a religious satire website. Every outrageous statement attributed to Dobson has always been a send-up. Heck, there's even a byline to this article. Only to those whose idea of satire is an episode of The Simpsons could this even be thought of as approaching unrelenting gravitas.

I wonder what you think of the whole "God Hates Figs" lampoon of Westboro Baptist. Just because this site also does serious exposes of the "blab it and grab it" contingent, don't think that every single story here is "serious journalism." However, many of the articles here are serious works of satire. Without a well-developed sense of outrage, there could only be parody (which is satire's weaker sister).

Of course, not everyone is blessed with the spiritual fruit of discernment. Heck, some people don't even have critical thinking skills. They both work in much the same way.

Wow! You are pretty sick, Mr. Green. Did the dinosaurs die because the gays were seeking equal rights. My God, Jesus Christ, is a loving, strong God. He is not hateful and would believe your hatred towards minorities is disgusting with no grounds.

You also believe recylcing is evil????!

Please, get some good psych-therapty and come out of the closet already!! (most people who are so anti-gay, like you, have unfortunately been raised in hateful families and try to repress being gay themselves by exhibiting great hate for others just like them. You, sir, have no right to repress my rights.

What you try to do (you anti-gay Nazis)is make it appear that the repressed (in this case, gays) the oppressor. That is inaccurate on your part.

I will pray for you, Mr. Green. I will pray hard that you wake up happy someday and be true to yourself.

In Health, equality and in God,

Teacher (who just happens to be gay)

that calvinist doug (who happens to be straight) | 11:14 am on 3/17/2008

It's astounding that you know who has "been raised in hateful families and try to repress being gay themselves." Is this due to your gaydar, and if so, do you hit on these people or just call them hateful names? If the latter, is this because you were raised in a hateful gay family and are trying to repress your own straight-ness?

Oops! I meant to address that letter to Dobson & Focus on the Family, not Green.

Little D | 09:16 am on 3/17/2008

Um, Teacher (who just happens to be gay), you DID get that this was satirizing Dobson's very public hatred of the environmental movement and gays and NOT the environmental movement or gays?

You did? Good.

And your response was a satire of a satire.

Of course, how silly of me.

Paul from Maine | 03:43 pm on 3/17/2008

My brothers, Open your hearts and minds (and wallets) please. Lend me your ears (and money) so that I can tell of what is to happen (if you don't give).

I had a dream last night. A dream (where I was in a hot tub with nubile virgins, oops, that was reality) in which the MAN himself (Really, just me) spoke to me (via our 800 number, which requires funding). He said to me--YOU! YOU! YOU! Are the one I have chosen (to get more money) for this particular task. I need you (to round up some benjamins) to go forth, walk ye shall not run, to the nearest holy land (Mercedes Benz dealer). There you shall find the chariot (S65 AMG) that suits (which I also need, Italian of course) a man like myself.

So Brothers, I ask (for your money) you, which shall I have? The chariot, or the donkey (Toyota prius hybrid)? Hay-suse may have rode into town on the back of an ass, but ye and me know that I, (am an ass) am far too impo(r)tant to partake of such "green" measures.

Go now brothers (to the local massage parlor, I'll meet you there), and join hand-in-hand (but not that close), with me. You have heard (the bullcrap) and now know the needs of this church. Reach deep into your heart (pocket) and giveth to me, so I can do the work (partying) I am bid to do (like finding the "Kristen" chick Spritzer was telling me about the other day). Until the gates open, and the angels (Victoria Secret Angels that is) sound the trumpets, I am (easily bought off) your humble servant.

It didn't take long at all. Sorry it took awhile to read.

This global warming thing might be catching on. The weather prophets spoke of 3 to 6 inches of snow last night. Yet, we awoke to rain. Clearly something has interupted the Will and made the the prophesies not come to fruition.

buda | 11:13 am on 3/20/2008

Or those are false weather-prophets. We should stone them, or see if they weigh as much as a duck.

There's one weather prophet I think may already be stoned. His forecast called for "Chillin' with a chance of the munchies".

Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy on me (we).

It is a song of humbleness, a sung from the Early Orthodox Church (before the Roman Catholic Church and Easter Orthodox was created). It is a song that we need to sing today. Not because of the community that is around us, but because of our own hardened hearts. We are forgetting to love our Lord with the society and nature that is around us. We never try to glorify our LORD (YHWH) in humbleness and lowliness. Instead, we exalt ourselves and by accusing others within our own loftiness.

We accuse to justify ourselves. While we smile at our accusations and pat ourselves on our backs, it is our loving Lord that weeps in tears. He is not weeping because of the homosexuals, adulterers, or scandalous harlots. He is crying because He sees his Church living within pride and arrogance. It is the Church that we should call ‘Gomer.’

The Church, no longer, accuses itself as being the whore, but it accuses everyone else as being so. Yes, it has dismissed the Word of God. The Church has forgotten all of the logical, empirical, faithful, and transcendental truths. Yes, it is only living for itself.

Look at the arrogance of your accusations. Your accusations against Homosexuals and the Green Party!?!?

1. Accusation

Why does the Church hate?

I truly believe that there is a bigger problem to discuss than homosexuality. Why is it that we are forgetting to examine ourselves? It is the Church that is killing God, and I believe that Nietzsche was accurate in his writings. The mass of the American population is not Christian. We have to remember that there is something called ‘nominal.’ These nominal Christians create the mass of our population. Too many Americans are a part of Christendom and that is what we need to destroy. That is what we need to be radical against!
Instead of unifying within the nominal (Christian Right, Westernized Christianity), we need to separate ourselves from them. Not a separation of hate, but a separation of our own expressive love. We can only glorify God and exalt His name within His attribute of attributes… love! That is something that “Focus on the Family” seems to neglect. “Focus of the Family” (from Westernized Christianity) loves only within the measure of phileo. Why do you neglect the indefinite and immeasurable agape? Agape is a love that dismisses accusations, and it is only by that love that God has and is redeeming us.

2. Reality

Why is the Church leaving earth?

We can learn something good from the Green Party. It is the Neo-Orthodox Church that respects them and I would have to agree. Yes! I am a follow of Christ and I relate myself with the Green Party! Why?
I am dismissing certain aspects of influences from St. Augustine, St. Ambrose, St. Victorious, and etc. The ‘Christianity’ that is living in the US is not Christian! Yes, these people are Neoplatonic-Christians (aka: Westernized Christians). They are living within the influences of dualism. The spiritual world is separated from the bodies that we live in. Christians, with Gnostic influence, are the ones that are dismissing the importance of Environmentalism. This earth will be renewed and before the fall we were called to care for it. Why do you accuse the Green Party? Why is it that these people of Panentheism (from Hegelianism, Spinoza, Pantheism, etc.) care more about this world than we do? If we claim that there is a God, why is it that we do not care for what He has called us to do?

So where is “Focus of the Family?” Not on earth, not within reality! To me it looks like you do not know what the 21st century is. The Christianity that I have seen in the “Focus of the Family” is the Christianity of dogmatism, Gnosticism, Neoplatonism, Existentialism, the Christian Right, etc. Where is the true Radical Church that is radical within itself (the bride) and the Divinity (the groom)? Where is the radicalism of the agape love, servitude and duty? To me it looks like you sit in complacency. Yet, instead of reviewing your own complacency, you sit back and accuse…
