This is a disgrace and a shame to the entire body of Christ. The millionaire, extravagant, celebrity - rock star lifestyles that Copeland, Dollar, Tilton, Hinn, Duplantis, White, and company live is absolutely obscene. They all should do what Jesus told the rich man in Matthew 19:21, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven." (NIV) Don't send your money to these preachers. They don't need it. They make more money in a month than you'll see in a lifetime.
Heartbreaking. What makes it worse is that the mojority of people who I speak with actually believe that because of these people Christianity is as hypocirtical and false as they are. It is sad because man needs God more than ever and cannot find Him through all of this.
I know that God is w/this man. I also know that he must be doing something right..he's being persecuted by the world..The Blessing of the Lord..it maketh rich and adds no sorrow with it!...Jesus became poor that we might become rich. The world and nobody can change that. You will be blessed in this world but you w/also be persecuted!..Rich in every since of the word. Nobody has problems with streets of gold as long as it's in heaven.I am ashamed that all of Gods children, men & women of God, evangelists, teachers, preachers, ministers, apostles, sheep, etc...aren't extremely wealthy...We serve the prosperity God who made everything, owns everything, is good & merciful, and will command the Blessing on whomever He wants;and this world and it's pundents can't stop the Almighty.. who's eyes travel all over the earth to see who he can bless that Love and Respect Him. Why shouldn't children of the King be wealthy, healthy and prosperous?Should the wealth be reserved for Satan? Why? God is good and in Him is no darkness at all.
When have Christians ever been persecuted because of their incredible wealth? At the Beautiful Gate they didn't have gold to give but something more precious. While you follow the Suffering Servant, how can you live as like King in this world?
Peter, Paul and all the apostles had different lifestyle. This is a departure from 2000 years of Christian history (except for the worldly Popes of the Middle Ages maybe?) and terrible sin.
People who don't follow Jesus, laugh at all these scriptures strung together to justify extravagant living; they know the smell of greed from a long way off. The ugliest greed is selling God's Holy Word for personal gain.
We need to ask the rich preachers, "Jesus and Peter carried a cross, where's yours?"
If we are Christ's, He has promised to supply all of our NEEDS not wants or what we THINK we need. I have often prayed "Lord, you're meeting my needs, but it would be nice to have a little extra now and then. My "extra" undoubtably comes, but not in the way I think it should, but none the less, it comes...in the smiles of my children when we go to the park, quiet time with my husband, even a monetary "blessing" just at time it's needed. We just need to be thankful for everything we have and not take anything for granted. We need to be able to Praise Him in our abundance and dare not hoard it for ourselves; and to Praise Him when we're in the wilderness. All we can do is trust Him.
Let me put this as diplomatically as possible... Copeland is a deluded nutjob... and a greedy, self indulgent one at that! Luxury cars, jets, mansions, jewelry, boats.. yeah.. that's what tithes are for! So how much is enough ole Kenny-boy? One simply can't be such a brazen, loud mouthed, sawed off smart-aleck as him and have had any direct contact with God Almighty. Had he I dare say we'd see a lot more fear, trembling and contrition on his part but such is not the case.
Jesus was pretty clear about what he wanted his followers to do with their money. So why not cut out the middlemen (i.e. Copeland, Meyer, Dollar, Jakes and the hundreds of others) and fight poverty directly as Christ directed? Give your money to a food bank or homeless shelter. Or there are plenty of microfinance opportunities like Kiva out there that don't even require you to donate.. just lend little bits of your money interest free to poor but motivated entrepreneurs in third world countries. So what if you don't cram scripture down their throat first? Maybe they'll see Americans as something other than the 'great satan.'
One thing for sure... a buck given to clowns like Copeland is a buck down a rat hole.
Brilliant comments about Copeland being a deluded nutjob. Copeland is as greedy as a human can get. He's not about to turn over any financial records, 'cause, as he says, that belongs to God (in this case KENNETH COPELAND=GOD). The man makes me sick. One question I'd like to ask of him is why couldn't he just let Gloria borrow his plane instead of spending another say $20 million or so on another plane just for Gloria?
Copeland is mocking the teaching of the scripture. Thank God we are not as plauged in Europe (yet) as you are in America by these greedy and faithless men. The dont believe in the scripture they belive in money thats their God.
I hope the Senate taxprobe in to those ministries will expose them for what they are: Moneymaking schemes that predates on naive people. If people would take the time to read the scriptures by themselves they would have no problem in looking though the teaching by Copeland and others of his kind. Copeland and all the other moneymomgers has destorted the faith and done untold harm to christianity in America and created disrespect for American belivers in the eyes of the rest of the christian world.
I hope that one day they will be exposed and punished for tax evasion and fraud.
